Biography
Shimshon Holzman, Painter. b. 1907, Galicia. Immigrated 1922. Studies: 1926 Histadrut Studio, with Yitzchak Frenkel; 1929 Grande Chaumiere, Paris. Prizes: 1937, 1959 Dizengoff Prize; 1938 Scholarship from Baron George de Manasse; Haifa Municipality Prize. 1948 A founder of Artists' Quarter, Safed. Participated in group exhibition of Israeli artists at opening of Tel Aviv Museum; participated in Venice Biennale. Died 1986.
