, signed in pencil, dated 77 and signed again in the plate (lower right), numbered 34/60 (lower left). Titled and dated 75 (on the reverse).

Biography
Born in Surrey, United Kingdom. Education: 1923 Harrow, where studied traditional academic painting.1927 attended the Central School of Art; soon after graduation the artist was elected to London Artist' Association. Teaching: Camberwell School of Art and Central School of Art. He became Master of Painting at Durham University. From the 1940's on he painted mostly abstract paintings. The Tate held major retrospectives of Pasmore's work in both 1965 and 1980 and his work is held in all major collections of modern art. Exhibitions: London Artist’s Association, 1932, Objective Abstractions Group, Zwemmer Gallery, London, 1934, Redfern Gallery, London, 1947, British Pavillion XXX Venice Biennial, 1966, Galerie Charles Lienhard, Zurich, 1963, Galleria Lorenzeli, Milan, 1964, Retrospective exhibition at Tate Gallery, London and Sao Paulo Bienal, Brazil, 1965, Marlborough Gallery, London and Zurich, 1977
