Biography Sergio Segre (1932-), Israeli artist of Italian origin. Born in Italy in 1932, immigrated to Israel in 1950. Studies: 1957-1961, The Avni Institute, Tel Aviv. He won numerous prizes, including: "Young Artist of the Year", The Tel Aviv Museum, 1961, and several other distinctions. He was also chosen to represent Israel at important international exhibitions of art like the Paris Biennale in 1961. Segre lived and worked in Paris from 1961-1965, and has since resided in London. Segre's work is present in several North American university museums. The Berman Foundation bought a large number of his paintings and at least one of his sculptures. His style was precocious and a premonition of the style of others to come. Group Exhibition: 10+, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, March 2008.
