Consisting of: 1. "Heinrich Heine", signed in pencil (lower left), numbered 38/100 (lower right), titled and numbered 384 (on the reverse). Technique: Etching. Dimensions: 14.5 x 14 cm (image). Condition: Good.
2. "Alfred Kerr", signed in pencil (lower left), inscribed "early trial proof (in German)" (lower right), dated 1905 (in the plate – upper left) and stamped "Alfred Kerr" (on the reverse). Technique: Etching. Dimensions: 19.5 x 14 cm (image). Condition: Some wear on sheet corners and minor foxing on margins. Biography
Hermann Struck (1876-1944), Painter, Master Etcher and Teacher. Born in Berlin, Germany in 1876. Immigrated to Israel in 1922.Studied painting, etching on copper and lithography in which he achieved his best work, including portraits of Herzl, Henrik Ibsen, Nietsche, Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein. Served in the German Army in World War I. Settled and painted in Haifa. Haifa Municipality established an annual prize in his name. Exhibitions Include: Haifa, Memorial Exhibition of his works; 1987 Berlin, 750th Anniversary of the City. Was an observant Jew all his life and a founder of the Mizrachi Movement. Died in 1944 in Haifa.
