Biography
Josef Büche (1848-1917) Austrian painter. Born in Vienna and grew up as the son of a painter. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts under Eduard von Engerth and Carl Wurzinger and was known especially for his portrait paintings. Many members of the imperial family and other important people were portrayed by him. In 1883 he was involved in the founding of the Vienna ‘Künstlerhaus’.
