Biography Carl Ostersetzer (1850-1914) was an Austrian genre painter. Was temporarily active in Munich. He painted mainly small paintings, mostly in oil on wood or canvas. He signed with “C. Ostersetzer “. About his life little seems to be known. Among other things, he illustrated craftsmen at work or in their natural surroundings.His work has been interpreted as a farewell to the traditional small craftsmen of the period of transition to large industrial plants.
