Biography
Reuven Rubin, Painter. b. 1893, Romania. Immigrated 1923. Studies: 1912 Bezalel, Jerusalem; 1913-15 Beaux Arts, Paris. Prizes: 1926 Lord Plummer Prize for the paintings ‘My Family’; 1964 Dizengoff Prize; 1973 Israel Prize. Was in Romania during First World War. Selected Exhibitions: 1921 Anderson Gallery, New York, sponsored by Alfred Steiglitz; 1948, 1950, 1952 Venice Biennale. Served as first Israeli Ambassador to Romania. Died 1974.
