On the reverse a note in Persian states this is a portrait of Nawab Ashraf Khan, son of Nawab Khan Dauran – a minister of the later Mughals, depicting him with his attendants while hunting a crane captured by his hawk. Inscribed (on the reverse).
Notes: According to a Sotheby’s appraisal in 1983, this item was estimated at £15,000/20,000 (Enclosed is the letter)
