The case highly decorated with wood veneer and fine brass fretwork inlay and impressive decorative brass mounts and feet. The face decorated with a gilt relief accented by Roman numerals in enamel and signed underneath. Set on four scroll shaped ormolu supports and surmounted by a sculptural, bronze vaze. The case interior also decorated with cut metal in a biomorphic pattern.
