The backplate cast and decorated with foliate motifs, topped with attached cast and punched rosette and two birds, with attached punched plaque on the bottom, fronted by a pentagonal oil pan.

Condition
Consistent with age. Only the front has been cleaned.

The “Kandil”, a memorial oil lamp for women, was kept in the home for the first year after the deceased had passed away and used on the Sabbath and holiday, after which it was given to the Synagogue. This type was the oldest and most splendid kind of lamp.
